Cover the Democratic or Republican National Convention!

By Catalyst Radio News-
Are you a student journalist? Do you enjoy witnessing history in the making and reporting on it? Are you considering a career in journalism or maybe politics? If you answered yes to one or more of the questions above, you should know about an exiting opportunity to study and cover the Democratic or Republican National Convention Process this summer in Denver or Minneapolis/St-Paul.

Every four years, the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars organizes two programs at each of the National Political Conventions. Those seminars are taught as an academic course and can be worth at least 3 credits, depending on the institution that you attend. The 2008 Democratic National Convention program will be held at Regis University in Denver, CO between August 17-29, 2008 and Republican National Convention Program will be held at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN between August 24 and September 5, 2008.

The first week combines formal instruction by Faculty Directors Thomas Cronin, PhD for the Democratic Convention and former Congressman Mickey Edwards for the Republican Convention, guest lectures, panels, tours, site visits and fieldwork assignments with the local or national media, state parties etc. The Washington Center would like to extend a special invitation to student journalists to apply for this program and extend our application deadline to April 15th.

To fill in an online application, please visit their website. They are encouraging students to apply as soon as possible for the national convention programs so we can begin the fieldwork placement process. Click here for Article Source
